The beauty of forced bulbs, with their irresistably bright colors and fresh, perky foliage will never cease to delight consumers, especially in the inhospitable temperatures of winter. We carry tulips in a broad spectrum of colors, fragrant hyacinths, daffodils or jonquils, grape hyacinths or muscari, and dutch gardens. The process of forcing bulbs begins in the fall, when the imported bulbs are received and potted into 4", 6", 7", and 8" bulb pans. Bulbs are organized and placed in racks in our cooler for a specified number of weeks to develop a root system and mature. Following the period of artificial dormancy, the pots are placed in our greenhouses to develop foliage and buds. Following this stage, plants are again stored in a temperature-controlled cooler until they are sold.
Tulips are available in a wide range of colors, including red, orange, pink, violet, white, yellow, and some bi-colors. They are shipped in a bud stage, generally with some color showing. With advanced notice, we can further force the bulbs to your specifications for special events.
The delightfully sweet fragrance of hyacinths is a tantalizing perfume which sharpens the senses in the present moment, as well as stirs emotions of past memories. In that respect, they are a very valuable addition to the selection of plants to have on hand. Hyacinths are easily stored in the cooler until needed, giving them an excellent shelf life. In addition, their ability to come back as a perennial in the garden gives them another value added feature for consumers.
