Martha Washington Geraniums (Regal Geraniums)

Picture
Martha Washington, or Regal Geraniums herald the spring season, and are a welcome sight after long winter months.  They are a tropical annual, and bloom freely in cooler temperatures.  As a house plant, they may be enjoyed in a bright location and cooler (50-60 degrees) nighttime temperatures.
Outdoors, Regal geraniums can be planted or used in containers where they will continue blooming all spring.  Plants may be pinched or trimmed to stay shapely.  Bright, indirect light is optimal.

Regal geraniums are an especially ideal plant for practical-minded people who like to garden.  Regal geraniums are easily propagated by cuttings or by division.  Placed in a bright, cooler place in the garden will encourage repeated cycling of blooms.
The colors of Martha Washington geraniums vary from white with pink markings on the petals, to almost solid pinks and deep purples or burgundy edged in white.
